My Client is an GP Surgery in Liverpool, Merseyside. We are seeking to recruit a self-motivated and detail-oriented General Practice Nurse Locum to join our existing talent pool of Practice Nurses, covering Northwest England.
The post holder will be required to provide and maintain a high standard of Nursing care for patients as well as providing assistance to the Doctors and other members of the primary care team, working together to deliver care within the boundaries and scope of their role.
Supporting patients with health related advice, monitoring of long-term conditions, health prevention and screening activities.
You will work collaboratively with the wider general practice team to meet the needs of patients, practice key performance indicators and targets, e.g., QOF. Support the delivery of policy and procedures whilst providing leadership to healthcare assistants and other workforce colleagues if required.The post holder should meet the following criteria, and personal specification:-

Clinical Responsibilities:
• Provide high quality patient care and treatment.
• Participate in setting standards for care and auditing clinical outcomes.
• Promote and participate in maintaining a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment.
• Participate in developing strategies and promoting health promotion programs for patients and carers and facilitate screening clinics.
• Take responsibility for the safe storage and administration of drugs and equipment.
• Provide nursing care in a variety of settings by holistic assessment, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care as appropriate.
• Participate in setting and monitoring standards to ensure effective care ensuring delivery of evidence-based practice.
• Provide information, advice and support to patients face to face and via the telephone
• Involvement in team discussions to ensure “best practice”

• Chronic disease management.
• Cervical Smear testing
• Immunisations / travel vaccines (Child & Adult)
• Assistance with Coil Fitting
• Urinalysis

• Spirometry
• Infection control management of equipment

• Health promotion and lifestyle advice

• Salary/Remuneration: Competitive Hourly

• Covering GP Practices, Walk-in-Centres, Urgent Care Centres, etc. across Northwest England

Mandatory Requirements:
• Must hold a Nursing Degree, qualification recognised by (NMC) (UK)
• Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
• RCN Membership, or valid indemnity insurance cover
• Enhanced DBS check
• Right-to-Work in UK
• Provide two referees we can contact for a reference

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties:
• Excellent manual dexterity and a compassionate bedside manner.
• To deliver high-quality, comprehensive care to a diverse patient list
• Refer complex cases outside your scope to GPs or hospital specialists as necessary

Compliance & Administration
• Maintain accurate patient records using the practice’s electronic software
• Adhere to infection control guidelines as dictated by HTM 01-05 and the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
• Participate in clinical audits to sustain high standards of clinical governance

Team Collaboration
• Communicate effectively with the administrative and practice management staff
• Support the delivery of policy and procedures whilst providing leadership to healthcare assistants and other workforce colleagues as required

Desirable Criteria
• Experience with NHS clinical software (e.g., EMIS)
• Good understanding, Knowledge of QOF
