My Client is an NHS Dental Practice in Liverpool, Merseyside. We are working seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Dentist with NHS Performer status to join their existing Dental team.
The post holder should meet the following criteria, and personal specification:-

Contract Details:
• NHS Associate Dentist
• Salary/Remuneration: Competitive Hourly/UDA rate (Units of Dental Activity) + private potential, dependent on experience
• Contract Type: Self-Employed (Part-time)

Mandatory Requirements:
• Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
• BDS or equivalent degree in dentistry recognised by the UK.
• Active NHS Performer Number (or eligibility to hold one)
• Valid indemnity insurance cover
• Enhanced DBS check
• Right-to-Work in UK
• Provide two referees we can contact for a reference

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties:
• Excellent manual dexterity and a compassionate bedside manner.
• To deliver high-quality, comprehensive NHS and private dental care to a diverse patient list
• The post-holder will focus on maintaining and improving patient oral health while meeting agreed Units of Dental Activity (UDAs) targets in line with NHS General Dental Services Regulations
• Examine patients’ teeth and gums during routine and emergency check-ups
• Diagnose dental conditions using tools like digital X-rays
• Formulate custom treatment plans and agree on options clearly with patients
• Perform clinical treatments including fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, and extractions
• Provide preventative care such as scaling, fluoride applications, and dietary advice
• Manage patient anxiety effectively through exceptional communication and pain control
• Refer complex cases to community dental services or hospital specialists when necessary

Compliance & Administration
• Maintain accurate patient records using the practice’s electronic software
• Adhere to infection control guidelines as dictated by HTM 01-05 and the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
• Participate in clinical audits to sustain high standards of clinical governance
• Manage UDA delivery efficiently to meet contractual NHS obligations.

Team Collaboration
• Lead the local clinical team, supervising Dental Nurses, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Therapists
• Communicate effectively with the administrative and practice management staff

Desirable Criteria
• Experience with dental software (e.g., SOE or Dentally).
• Postgraduate qualifications or a verified interest in a particular niche (e.g., cosmetic dentistry or endodontics)
